Translating music into vibration, light and movement

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
MoireBox explores new ways of experiencing music by transforming sound into visual and tactile stimuli.
Developed as part of the Sonar Innovation Challenge 2017, the project was born from the challenge of making music accessible to people with hearing disabilities.
The installation uses motors, vibrations and real-time generated graphics to transform musical frequencies into physical and visual patterns.
A box containing 120 strings interprets sound, creating a multisensory experience where music, light and movement come together.
